National Geographic VR Helmet

Built to promote the premiere of National Geographic's One Strange Rock, a series about the fragility and wonder of Earth, these helmets give wearers the perspective of an astronaut in space.

The magic behind the quasi-VR experience includes an articulating semi-transparent visor, fisheye projector system (derived from dome-shaped IMAX theatres), and shoulder harness with integrated speakers.

The helmets are WiFi-enabled and synchronized, allowing up to 25 people to view together in real time. As part of the One Strange Rock media tour, these helmets have traveled across the USA and Japan.
